Clinical Features and Risk Factors of Diabetic Neuropathy


Abstract
Objective:
@EN Peripheral neuropathy is one of the common complications of diabetes mellitus. We studied clinical features of evaluate the risk factors of diabetic neuropathy.
@ES Method and Materials:
@EN We retrospectively studied 180 diabetic patients who have undergone neurologic examination and nerve conduction study. Their demographic features and clinical characteristics were evaluated to see whether they have any correlation with the
incidence
of diabetic neuropathy.
@ES Results:
@EN Duration, HbA1C and treatment of diabetes mellitus seemed to correlate with development of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
@ES Conclusion:
@EN The Early and strict control of blood sugar in diabetic patients is important in preventing and delaying the development of diabetic neuropathy.
